Wild Vs. Flames Final Score: Minnesota Drops Fifth In Row

The Minnesota Wild will still be 20-10-5 and sitting in first place in the Northwest Division after Tuesday evening. But they may have just hit a low point after losing for the fifth straight time, falling 2-1 to the fourth place Calgary Flames.

Jarome Iginla netted the game-winning goal in the second period, and Minnesota could not break through against Miikka Kiprusoff in third period despite three power plays and outshooting Calgary 11-6 in the final period.

Pierre-Marc Bouchard scored in the first period to tie the game 1-1 for the Stars, but that was the one and only time they beat Kiprusoff.

The five-game losing streak follows a seven-game winning streak. Coincidentally, the last time these two teams met, the Flames won 5-2, after which the Wild won those seven straight games.

The Wild, who have not won since Dec. 10, will hope to get back on track when they face the Edmonton Oilers on the road on Thursday. The Wild have won three of four matchups against the Oilers to date this season.
