Broncos At Vikings Score Update: Jared Allen's Safety Dance Gives Minnesota The Lead

The Minnesota Vikings' offense stalled early, but the defense and the special teams made the effort to pick them up.

After the Vikings' first drive, Chris Kluwe's first punt of the afternoon was a beauty, and it was downed by safety Eric Frampton at the 1-yard line. On the Broncos' first offensive play, Tim Tebow handed the ball to running back Willis McGahee, and McGahee was engulfed by Jared Allen in the end zone for a safety. It was the first safety registered by the Vikings since Allen ran down Aaron Rodgers in the end zone in Green Bay's visit to the Metrodome in 2008, and it gave the Vikings an early 2-0 lead.

According to the Vikings' official Twitter account, Allen is now tied for the all-time NFL lead for safeties in a career with four, so congratulations to Allen on that.

With the ensuing possession, the Vikings are into Broncos territory and have moved nicely on this drive thus far. In the early going at the Metrodome, the Minnesota Vikings have a rare 2-0 lead over the Denver Broncos.
