After a Ryan Longwell field goal from 39 yards out, the Vikings had a 32-29 lead over the Broncos at the Metrodome. On the ensuing Broncos drive, the Vikings' defense again got humiliated by Tim Tebow and company, as Tebow found Demaryius Thomas for a huge 40-yard gain to put the Broncos into Minnesota territory.
The Vikings' defense stiffened up after that, however, and held the Broncos to a 46-yard Matt Prater field goal to tie the game at 32 with 1:33 left on the clock. Prater then blasted the kickoff nine yards deep into the end zone, and the Vikings started out at the 20-yard line.
And to put an unfortunate capper on what had largely been an outstanding day, Christian Ponder threw a bad pass in the direction of Percy Harvin that was intercepted by Andre Goodman. Goodman ran the pick back to the Minnesota 20-yard line, and it was academic from there as the Broncos ran the clock down and had Prater kick a 23-yard field goal for a 35-32 Denver victory.
