Gophers Try To Keep Faint Hopes Alive Against Northwestern

Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Golden Gophers' hopes of an NCAA Tournament berth are all but gone, but a loss to the Northwestern Wildcats tonight would extinguish those hopes completely.

With that having been said, the folks at The Daily Gopher have a pretty good feeling about tonight's game, especially considering that the good guys have only won one of the last eight games they've taken the court for.

With all of that said I feel pretty strongly that tonight will be a win.  Maybe it is just my lack of respect for Northwestern or maybe it is my consistent overvaluation of the Gophers but I feel a win tonight.  There are games where certain guys will predictably sleepwalk through the game.  And there are certain games when they will come out with some determination to be a contributor.  I think we get contributions tonight from Rodney and Ralph en route to a huge road win over team with a top 100 RPI.

Hopefully, for the Gophers' sake, they're right.
