The Minnesota Vikings got a bit of a boost in their first pre-season game from the only native Minnesotan on the team at this point in time, as Marcus Sherels' 64-yard interception return gave the Vikings their first touchdown of the 2011 pre-season, and a 7-0 lead over Seattle.
It was a bit of redemption for Sherels, who had handed the ball back to Seattle with a fumble on a punt return on the previous series. Seahawks quarterback Tarvaris Jackson. . .man, it feels nice to type that. . .attempted to hit second-year man Golden Tate on a pass, but the ball went through his hands and directly to Sherels, who turned on the jets and put the ball in the end zone for Minnesota.
The Vikings are driving again as we approach the midway point of the second quarter, as they lead the Seahawks already by a score of 7-0.
