Vikings At Seahawks: Minnesota Adds Field Goal After Goal Line Stand

Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Vikings stopped the Seattle Seahawks at the goal line, and they turned it into their best drive of the pre-season to extend their lead to 10-0 in the Pacific Northwest.

The Seahawks found themselves with first and goal on the 2-yard line, but were unable to bust into the end zone on four successive tries. The Vikings then took over at their own 1-yard line and moved the ball 81 yards in 13 plays. The highlights of the drive were a 26-yard catch and run by Jim Kleinsasser. . .yes, THAT Jim Kleinsasser. . .and a 21-yard dart to newly acquired receiver Michael Jenkins.

Minnesota moved the ball down to the Seattle 13-yard line on the drive, but a false start on right tackle Phil Loadholt killed the offensive momentum, and forced the Vikings to settle for a 36-yard field goal from Ryan Longwell to give themselves a 10-0 lead.

The Seahawks have just taken the ball back with 6:33 left in the first half of play. We will continue to have updates for you here as the action warrants.
