It was a night of punching and counter punching in Chicago.
Every time the Twins punched, the White Sox counter punched, and at the end of the night, had come out on top 8-6. The Twins only had 7 hits, but made the most of them, scoring six runs in the loss. The Twins scored three runs each in the 4th and 5th inning, taking the lead both times, but that lead was only temporary.
The White Sox answered with three runs in the bottom of the 4th, and 5 in the bottom of the 5th as Anthony Swarzak couldn’t make it out of the fifth inning. Swarzak went 4.1 innings, getting shelled for 8 runs on six hits, while walking one ans striking out one.
For the Twins on offense, it was a good night for Joe Mauer, as he went 2-4 with 2 RBI and two runs scored, and Jason Kubel hit a three run home run in the fourth to give the Twins their first lead of the night.

Kevin Slowey pitched a very good game, his best game of the season, in fact, against the White Sox on Monday.
He still lost, as Mark Buehrle was stellar, leading Chicago to a 3-0 victory at Cellular One Field.
Slowey went 7 innings, only giving up 6 hits and two earned runs in a very strong performance. Unfortunately for him, Buehrle was better, going 7.2 innings, limiting the Twins to just four singles all night long.
Without Joe Mauer, who has been battling a sore neck, and Justin Morneau, who has a sore shoulder, the Twins weren’t able to muster any offense at all. The Twins were able to get runners in scoring position in the 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th, but once again, they weren’t able to get the one hit that might start a rally.
In every instance, there were two outs when the Twins got a runner to second, and in every instance, the next batter couldn’t get it done, as the Twins went 0-4 with runners in scoring position.
