The Minnesota Wild will try to stay within the playoff picture in the Western Conference when they take on the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
The Wild, after losing four of five games, enter tonight's game in the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, tied with 50 points with the seventh place Los Angeles Kings and just a point in front of the Dallas Stars.
St. Louis started 2012 with a flurry of wins but had their four-game winning streak snapped when they fell in overtime to the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 on Thursday night. Still, they are 17-3-3 at home, so this figures to be a difficult test for the reeling Wild.
This game is the second of a four-game road trip for the Wild, which ends in Toronto on Jan. 19. They started the trip with a 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. Tonight's game is scheduled to start at 8:00 p.m. eastern.
