Kevin Love Contract: Timberwolves Reportedly About To Sign Love To Four Year Extension

Stay connected for news and updates

With the zero hour for signing quickly approaching, the TwinCities.com has released a report saying that the Minnesota Timberwolves are going to ink Kevin Love to a four year extension worth $62 million. This is wonderful news if true for the Timberwolves as the deadline for singing Love was 11 PM CST Wednesday evening, and a game during that time would have made a signing later in the day very difficult.

Reportedly the Wolves sent their President of Basketball Operations along with the team lawyers with the team down to Dallas before the team takes on the Mavericks on Wednesday evening so that they could get the paperwork completed. Love is currently tearing the league apart while averaging 24.9 points and 13.9 rebounds per game.

This is a smaller contract than was originally discussed between Love and the Wolves -- the original deal being a five year deal worth almost $80 million -- which should leave them free to keep other players like Ricky Rubio on the team with decent paychecks.
