There are a host of different scenarios in which the Vikings make the playoffs.
The Minnesota Vikings 23-6 win over the Houston Texans in the Lone Star State kept them alive in the run for a wild card spot in the NFC. At 9-6 on the season, the Vikings are currently sitting precariously close to the edge in the sixth spot in the conference. They'll finish the season at home against the Green Bat Packers next week but they don't even need to win to clinch a playoff spot, that is, if some things go their way.
Beating the Packers next week, combined with a loss from the New York Giants would clinch a spot in the playoffs. Combine a win with a Cowboys win over the Washington Redskins would put them in the playoffs as well. They could also clinch with a win and two straight losses from the Seattle Seahawks.
The final scenario is the most complex but it doesn't require the Vikings to win. If they lose to the Packers, losses from the Giants in their final two games combined with a Redskins win over the Cowboys and one Bears loss in the final two weeks puts them in the postseason.
