The Minnesota Wild saw their dwindling NHL playoff hopes take a major hit on Sunday, as they had a chance to gain ground on eighth place Calgary at home. It was tense game, with Calgary leading 1-0 after two periods, but a goal explosion in the third period saw the Wild fall 4-3.
Curtis Glencross and Olli Jokinen each scored for the Flames in the third period to break a 2-2 tie with less than 10 minutes to play. The Wild were able to add a third goal by Devin Setoguchi, his 18th of the season, with less than two minutes left, but they could not get an equalizer.
Erik Christensen scored twice in the third period for Minnesota, his second and third goals of the season.
