It was relatively easy sailing for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday in a 117-100 victory over the visiting Denver Nuggets. All-Star forward Kevin Love turned in yet another memorable statistical performance with 30 points, 21 rebounds and four assists, as his team was barely forced to break a sweat in the second half after taking a 21-point advantage into the break.
The T-Wolves connected on 12 of 35 three-point attempts (34.3%) during the game, and sported nearly a 3-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio as a team. Point guard Luke Ridnour, who was a perfect 7-for-7 shooting in the first half, finished the day with 25 points and six assists.
Newly-acquired JaVale McGee added 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Nuggets off the bench, but Denver was unable to find its range from the perimeter and couldn't find a way to stop Love. The T-Wolves moved to 24-26 with the win, and are now a mere two games away from reaching a .500 record.

On a day where the shots are clearly falling at the Target Center, the Minnesota Timberwolves lead the Denver Nuggets 68-41 after two quarters.
Without big man Nikola Pekovic, who was ruled out before the game due to bone spurs in his right foot, the T-Wolves have not missed a beat on the glass and have controlled the paint throughout. The Wolves have snagged nine offensive rebounds in the first half as a team, and scored on a bevy of second chance opportunities.
Kevin Love, fresh off his 51-point performance, has continued his torrid pace on offense with 13 points, 12 rebounds and four assists at the break. In addition to Love, Minnesota point guard Luke Ridnour has been nearly flawless with 17 points on 7-for-7 shooting with five assists.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without the services of 6'11" big man Nikola Pekovic when they take the floor against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. The Associated Press' Jon Krawczynski reported via Twitter that Pekovic will not only miss today's game due to bone spurs, but he'll also stay home to rehab while his teammates hit the road early this week.
No Pekovic today. Also won't make trip on tues-weds. Bone spurs in right ankle.

It's entirely possible that Pekovic's injury could shut him down for the season. But with Kevin Love's 51-point performance still fresh in everyone's mind, Pekovic's presence on the inside might not be as necessary as it seems.
The first pick of the second round in 2008, Pekovic is averaging 13.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game for the T-Wolves this season, and has been one of the biggest surprises in the league.
