The first round of the 2012 French Open continued on Memorial Day Monday with some of the more interesting match ups of the tournament taking place.
Novak Djokovic advanced by beating Potito Starace -- 7-6, 6-3, 6-1 -- and Roger Federer had no problems taking care of Tobias Kamke in straight sets -- 6-2, 7-5, 6-3.
The big story of the tournament thus far has to be that of the American women absolutely taking care of business. With a day of opening round action remaining, the American women are a perfect 10-0 in the first round. Serena Williams hasn't even played, yet, so it's a good bet that the American women will advance at least 11 players, their best showing since 2003.
