2012 U.S. Open Golf: 14-Year Old Andy Zhang Becomes Youngest Entrant In Open History

With much of the focus of the 2012 U.S. Open Championship at Olympic Club being fixed upon Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and other big name stars of the golfing world, there is a rather intriguing story that is developing around Andy Zhang. A 14-year old native of China who has been living in the United States since the age of 10, Zhang will become the youngest ever entrant into the Open championship.

Following Paul Casey's withdrawal from the tournament on Monday, Zhang was awarded the berth despite losing a qualifier last Monday at a playoff in the Florida Sectional. Zhang is already in San Francisco and has signed in for the week. Zhang is no ordinary teenager as he stands at six-feet tall and weighs around 185 pounds. He will be playing a practice round with Bubba Watson and Aaron Baddeley on Tuesday.
