U.S. Open 2012 Leaderboard: Tiger Woods Tied For Lead With Jim Furyk

The Olympic Club's brutal conditions have wreaked havoc on the field at the 112th U.S. Open Championship, but former world no. 1 Tiger Woods has worked himself back into a tie for the lead with Jim Furyk after 13 holes at 1-under par.

After briefly holding the lead himself at 2-under, a string of three straight birdies dropped Woods back into the pack and opened the door wide open for 17-year-old amateur Beau Hossler to make headlines by tying clubhouse leader Jim Furyk for the lead. Furyk carded a 69 earlier in the afternoon and has watched gleefully while a handful of players near him on the leaderboard slip up on the tricky layout. Hossler, who continues to impress everyone with his sheer poise at his age in a major championship, has predictably started to feel the added pressure and quickly fell back to 1-over par.

Day one leader Michael Thompson, who entered Friday with a three-stroke lead, has completely fallen off the pace with a series of bogeys in his bid to repeat his opening round 66. Thompson is currently 6-over par after only 13 holes despite being just three shots off the lead himself.
