U.S. Open Golf 2012 Cut Line: Rory McIlroy, Bubba Watson Out After Two Rounds

The U.S. Open is always one of the more difficult golf tournaments on the PGA circuit. This year's Open at the notorious Olympic Club was an especially daunting course to play on for golfers of any stripe. After two rounds, the cut line will likely fall at 8-over, leaving some pretty notable names out of the mix for the last two rounds of the tournament.

Among those who will not make the cut is Rory McIlroy, who finished the day on Friday with a 73. That combined with a 77 in the first round put him at 10-over. 2012 Masters Champions Bubba Watson played a much better round on Friday, but his 71 in the second round added up to 9-over following his 78 in the first round.

14-year-old phenom Andy Zhang is out after two rounds as well, along with Vijay Singh.

Phil Mickelson finished with a 71 in the second round for a total of 7-over to make the cut.
