The Minnesota Lynx are within a game of tying the best start in WNBA history after a blowout over Seattle.
After Wednesday's 79-55 walloping of the Seattle Storm, the Minnesota Lynx are 8-0 and off to the third-best start in the 16-year history of the WNBA.
The Lynx are two games ahead of 5-1 Los Angeles in the Western Conference and have been dominant all season.
They have won three games by at least 20 points and another by 18. Even crazier: Wednesday marked the seventh time this season that the Lynx have shot at least 50 percent from the field. The rest of the league has accomplished that feat four times combined.
Oh, and Minnesota's leading scorer, Seimone Augustus, didn't play because of a strained quad. Augustus is averaging 18.1 points per game.
Five players scored in double figures on Wednesday, paced by Taj McWilliams-Franklin's 17. She was 8 of 8 from the floor.
Los Angeles twice started 9-0, in 2001 and 2003.
