Wimbledon 2012: Mardy Fish Eliminated In Round 4

Stay connected for news and updates

On Tuesday afternoon, Minnesota native Mardy Fish was eliminated in the fourth round of the 2012 Wimbledon Tournament when the No. 5 seeded Jo-Wilfred Tsonga defeated him, 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4, 6-4. Despite his back bothering him and several rain delays, Tsonga was able to advance to the Quarterfinal round after a rocky first set.

Fish was playing in his first tournament since having a procedure on his heart in late May and was trying to reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals for the second year in a row. Now Tsonga will hope to advance to the Semifinal and will in all likely hood have to deal with rain through the rest of the tournament.

A bracket with schedule information can be found at Wimbledon's home page.
