Olympic Basketball: Team USA, Featuring Trio Of Minnesota Lynx Players, Takes Care Of Angola

Stay connected for news and updates

The men get most of the attention, but Team USA is pretty good for both genders as America tries to rack up the medal count at the 2012 London Olympics. It seems as though the women might be on their way, too, as a heavy dose of players with Minnesota connections trounced Angola 90-38 on Monday afternoon.

All three members of the Minnesota Lynx competing at the Olympics -- Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore -- each played at least 18 minutes in their second victory during pool play in London. Augustus was the team's second-leading scorer with 13 points while Moore chipped in 10 and Whalen, a Hutchinson native, scored nine points to complement her four assists.

Team USA is now off until Wednesday when they'll play a fellow undefeated team in China. The Chinese squad defeated Angola 72-50, for what it's worth.
