The neck-and-neck race between the United States and China continues at the 2012 Summer Olympics, as the two dominant countries each racked up a total of 11 medals on day eight to expand their respective leads.

Ahead by just one medal at the moment, the United States added another five golds on Saturday alone, including a win in women's singles from tennis player Serena Williams and a doubles tennis championship from brothers Mike and Bob Bryan. The Americans also picked up another huge performance in fencing, as Team USA brought home gold in the women's team epee event over Russia.
