Vikings vs. Colts 2012: Game Preview, Kickoff Time, TV Schedule And More

Year two of the Vikings' rebuilding process is looking very promising following an impressive, albeit nerve-wracking victory over Jacksonville last week. It was a game full of surprises where Adrian Peterson showed he was far more prepared for the season than anyone expected, and Christian Ponder appeared to have taken the next step in his development. It was a scintillating game for the second year quarterback as he completed 74% of his passes, and particularly towards the end of the game showed fantastic arm strength, and an ability to push the ball down the field.

Meanwhile in Indianapolis, their young QB didn't fair quite as well as expected. It wasn't Andrew Luck's fault, but rather the curse of unrealistic expectations as the 23-year-old wunderkind looked like a rookie does in their first NFL start. He finished his game against Chicago with three interceptions, and was sacked three times.

Minnesota will hope their pass rush will has similar success to what the Bears did after they finished with a disappointing two sacks against one of the league's more mediocre offensive lines in Jacksonville. If the Vikings are able to pair their normally solid pass rush, with another excellent performance by Adrian Peterson it should be another long day for Luck and the Colts.

Thankfully for Andrew Luck it looks like he may regain a weapon in Austin Collie, as the Colts WR continues to recover from a concussion he sustained in preseason. While Collie has not participated in practice thus far, there is an good chance he could play against the Vikings on Sunday. The timing of veteran corner Antoine Winfield's return for the Vikings couldn't come at a better time as a counter for Collie and a potent group of Colts' receivers.
