The Minnesota Lynx will open the WNBA playoffs against the Seattle Storm next week.

The defending league champion and top-seeded Minnesota Lynx will open the WNBA playoffs at the Target Center on Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. CT against the No. 4-seeded Seattle Storm.

Game 1 of the three-game Western Conference playoff series against the Storm is next Friday in Minnesota. Game 2 is Sunday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. CT at Seattle's KeyArena. Game 3, if necessary, will be back at the Target Center on Oct. 2.

Eight teams are in the playoffs -- four from the East and four from the West. The other Western Conference semifinal pits the No. 2 Los Angeles Sparks against the No. 3 San Antonio Silver Stars.

The Lynx (26-5) have home-court advantage throughout the playoffs. They play Thursday night in L.A. and end the regular season with two more games before the playoffs.

Four Lynx players average in double figures in points, including leading scorers Seimone Augustus and Maya Moore, both U.S. Olympians this year.
