Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, who has been dealing with a "neck issue," is listed as probable on the injury report for the team's upcoming game against the Detroit Lions, according to ESPN 1500. In addition to Ponder, tight end Kyle Rudolph, who has been working through a quadriceps injury, was also listed as probable.
The Vikings are off to a 2-1 start after a 24-13 upset of the San Francisco 49ers, and Ponder has been a big part of that success. The second-year player out of Florida State has completed 70 percent of his passes for 713 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions.
The news wasn't all good for Minnesota on Friday, as starting weakside linebacker Erin Henderson was ruled out for Sunday's game. Henderson reported concussion symptoms on Sept. 19, and he hasn't been able to practice or play since. Through two games, he was leading the Vikings with 26 tackles, two sacks and four tackles for loss.
