After the Gophers and Boilermakers spent most of the first quarter exchanging punts, the Boilermakers realized what most Gopher opponents have realized this season. . .you can run the football on these guys.
Dan Orseske shanked a punt that allowed the Boilermakers to start at their own 37-yard line. After a quick pass on their first play, Purdue running back Dan Dierking took a handoff and rumbled for 42 yards to set the Boilermakers up with first and goal. Two plays later, quarterback Rob Henry scored on a 4-yard keeper for Purdue, and the Boilermakers are off to an early 7-0 lead.
