If the Minnesota Golden Gophers' defense looks like this all day, things are going to get really ugly, really quickly at the Big House.

Minnesota won the toss and deferred to the second half, so Michigan took possession first, starting at their own 20-yard line. The Gophers actually managed to force the Wolverines into a third-down situation early in the drive, but Denard Robinson picked up the first down with his legs to keep the drive going. On the next play, Fitzgerald Toussiant rumbled for 35 yards, and Robinson picked up 18 more shortly thereafter to put the Wolverines on Minnesota's doorstep.

Vincent Smith finished the drive by taking a handoff from Robinson and going three yards, untouched, into the end zone for the touchdown. Brendan Gibbons converted the extra point for Michigan, and the Wolverines have a 7-0 lead.

We're only about three and a half minutes into this one from Michigan Stadium, and true rookie Max Shortell will lead the Gophers on to the field. Shortell is the first true freshman to start at quarterback for the Gophers since Rickey Foggie back in 1984.
