So far, things have been going well for the Minnesota Golden Gophers since losing Trevor Mbakwe for the season with a torn ACL. They have now won four straight games without their star power forward, and two of those wins have come over major conference foes in USC and Virginia Tech. The Gophers have a very light week with only a Tuesday night game against Central Michigan before having nine days off.
The Chippewas come to the Barn Tuesday night at 8 p.m. and they sport only a 4-4 record. They have now lost two straight, however, to Temple and Tennessee Tech. Central Michigan is one of the worst shooting teams in the country at only 40% from the field.
After playing Central Michigan the Gophers have nine days off due to Finals before hosting North Dakota State on December 22. The game against North Dakota State is the last non-conference game before the Gophers begin Big Ten play.
