The Minnesota Golden Gophers have announced that Florida defensive back Steven Montgomery has signed a letter of intent to come to Minneapolis to play for Coach Kill and the Gophers.
Montgomery currently attends Miramar High School in Miramar, Florida, and is rated as the 44th-best safety prospect in the nation by the folks at Rivals.com. He is ranked as the 76th-best safety, and ESPN/Scouts, Inc. has him as the 100th-best cornerback in the nation, so there's some debate as to what position he fits in best at at the college level.
