Reeling in Minnesota's biggest sports stories.
The Big Ten conference has granted Minnesota Golden Gophers wide receiver Brandon Green a medical hardship waiver after Green missed most of the 2010 season with a knee injury.
Green played in two games this year for the Golden Gophers and did not record a catch, serving primarily as a punt returner. Now that he has been granted this medical hardship waiver, he will have two years of eligibility remaining.
In three seasons with the Gophers, Green has caught 42 passes for 599 yards and two scores. He is expected to play a much larger role with the team in 2011 as a potential starter opposite Da'Jon McKnight in Jerry Kill's new offense.
