Stay connected for news and updates

Our apologies for not having a proper preview of this one up before tip-off.

The Purdue Boilermakers are well on their way to moving on to the second round of the 2011 NCAA Basketball Tournament, as they lead the Peacocks of St. Peter's at halftime by a score of 33-17 in Southwest Regional play in Chicago, Illinois.

E'Twaun Moore leads the Boilermakers in scoring thus far with nine points at the break, and JaJuan Johnson has chipped in with eight of his own. Wesley Jenkins is the leading scorer for St. Peter's thus far with four.

The winner of this contest will move on to the Round of 32, where they will meet the winner of the final first round game of the Southwest Regional, which will see the Georgetown Hoyas taking on the Virginia Commonwealth Rams.

For the Purdue perspective on things, be sure to pay a visit to the good folks over at Hammer and Rails.
