The New Mexico State Aggies got very good field position on their first possession against the Minnesota Golden Gophers, and they took full advantage of it by converting it into a touchdown.

Not wanting anything to do with speedy Aggies return man Taveon Rogers, the Gophers went with a squib kick to start the game, which one of the up men for the Aggies fell on at the New Mexico State 40-yard line. From there, the Aggies went to work, moving the ball downfield with little resistance by the Minnesota defense.

New Mexico State quarterback Andrew Manley eventually found Rogers from 26 yards out for a touchdown, and the extra point gave the Aggies an early 7-0 lead.

The Gophers have gone three-and-out on their first possession, and it sounds as though the natives might already be getting restless at TCF Bank Stadium. Hopefully the Gophers can turn things around in short order.
