Gophers' Coach Jerry Kill Tapes Everything

Everybody knows that coaches go over game film religiously during their preparation process for games every week. You'd expect guys like Jerry Kill, the new head coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, to look at tape of his team to see how they look on the field and how well they're executing on both offense and defense.

Kill, however, takes it to a whole new level. He spent at least part of this week watching tape of his team's "sideline demeanor" against the University of Southern California in the team's season opener last Saturday. He wasn't exactly pleased with everything he saw. . .not even from himself.

"You can also see how coaches react, see how I react," Kill said. "I look at myself, too. I did an okay job for a while and there was a few times I didn't do so good either, didn't hold my composure.  So we all need to be evaluated sometimes, held accountable."

Kill said that his team did a little extra running as a result of what he saw on the film of the sidelines. No word as to whether or not Kill did any extra conditioning work of his own.

The Gophers' new head coach certainly does have a bit of a different way of doing things, but it's still a pretty nice change after the past few seasons of Gopher football.
