The Minnesota Golden Gophers take on the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday, the first of three games against highly ranked competition in a row for Minnesota.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers knew when Big Ten conference play began that they would have to take as many games as they could when they were starting out on a roll because they were going to face a tough schedule right before the NCAA Tournament. Unfortunately, they have been streaky and inconsistent and now have an unfortunate chance to have a six game losing streak going into their last game against Nebraska as their next three games are against three ranked teams in the top five of the conference.
The first game for the Gophers in their pre-tournament gauntlet will come against the best team of the lot, the conference leading and eighth ranked Michigan State Spartans. The Spartans are absolutely on fire right now and used a loss by the Ohio State Buckeyes to slot themselves into the top spot in the conference over the weekend.
The game will be at Williams Arena on Wednesday at 8 PM Eastern Time.
