Printable Brackets For Both Men's And Women's 2012 NCAA Tournament

The 2012 NCAA Tournament brackets have been released for both the men and women, meaning March Madness is officially in effect. While that means plenty of exciting basketball over the next month, the immediate concern should be finding enough printable brackets to fill out before ripping them up by Friday afternoon.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers weren't included in either version of the Big Dance -- though the men made the 2012 NIT Tournament bracket -- but our neighbors to the West are included as the South Dakota State Jackrabbits men's and women's teams both won the Summit League to earn automatic bids.

Anyway, back to the brackets. SB Nation has everyone covered with a printable 2012 NCAA men's tournament bracket while a printable women's bracket is included on the NCAA's official site.

Women's NCAA Bracket Selection Show To Be Aired On ESPN

The women's NCAA Basketball Tournament bracket doesn't get as much publicity as the men's version does, but we're all about equal opportunity here at SB Nation Minnesota. The Minnesota Golden Gophers likely won't be included when the selection show takes place on Monday night, but the region still has a team to cheer for in the tournament this season.

The South Dakota St. Jackrabbits earned an automatic bid to the tournament by winning the Summit League -- just like St. Cloud, Minn., native Nate Wolters helped do for the men's team -- and are therefore guaranteed to hear their name on ESPN when the selection show gets underway 7 p.m. ET.

ESPN's bracketologist on the women's side, Charlie Creme, has the Jackrabbits slated as the No. 13 seed while the Connecticut Huskies, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Baylor Bears and Stanford Cardinal are his picks for the No. 1 seeds.

Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament Results: Minnesota Advances With Win Over Wisconsin

The Minnesota Golden Gophers advanced through the first round of the women's Big Ten Tournament on Thursday evening, handily defeating the Wisconsin Badgers in a battle of the eight and nine seeds. Senior Kiara Buford scored 19 points as the Gophers rolled to an 81-49 victory in a postseason version of the Border Battle.

Buford had an efficient day from the field as she finished the game making eight of her 10 field goal attempts to finish with the game-high 19 points, but Big Ten Freshman Player of the Year Rachel Banham wasn't bad either. Banham scored 11 points and corralled 10 rebounds to offset her 4-of-15 shooting from the field.

The win was a milestone of sort for the Gophers as they defeated the Badgers for the first time in six attempts and picked up their fifth-ever victory in the Big Ten Tournament. Buford reached an individual milestone, too, as her 1,461 career points pushed her past Emily Fox for the No. 7 spot on Minnesota's all-time scoring register.
