NIT Tournament Bracket 2012: Washington Huskies, Seton Hall Advanced In First Round

Stay connected for news and updates

The 2012 NIT Tournament bracket didn't see a lot of turmoil in the first round of the annual basketball tournament as the majority of the teams that were supposed to advance through the first round did just that. One team that may have done a bit of bracket-busting, however, was the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The Hawkeyes pulled off the biggest upset of the night on Tuesday, defeating the No. 2 Dayton Flyers 84-75 despite entering the game as the No. 7 seed in its region. All three top seeds in action -- the Washington Huskies, Seton Hall Pirates and Tennesse Volunteers -- advanced through their scheduled first round opponents as well.

The first round will continue on Wednesday night with the Minnesota Golden Gophers playing the La Salle Explorers at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
