Minnesota Gophers Won't Pursue Penn State Players Looking To Transfer

Minnesota Gophers coach Jerry Kill does not plan on actively recruiting players from Penn State allowed to transfer without penalty following the recent NCAA penalties handed down in Happy Valley. Kill stopped short of ruling out any transfers from Penn State, but only if those players initiate an interest in moving to Minnesota.

"We've got enough problems of our own to move forward, so we're not going to do anything to go see players," Kill said Thursday, July 26, in Chicago at Big Ten Media Day, which was broadcast on the Big Ten Network. "We don't have enough time to do those kinds of things. We've got to concentrate on our football team and our football program. And if a young man called us from Penn State or whatever, we'd do the proper procedures."

Earlier in the day, Wisconsin coach Brett Bielema made a similar pledge to support their Big Ten brethren, however those feelings aren't felt across the league. Illinois and Michigan State are two schools not opposed to engaging Penn State players, although most teams are taking a similar stance to that of Kill by not actively seeking transfers but also not turning them away.
