Gophers Wide Receiver Released From Hospital After Heart Problem

Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Golden Gophers football team received quite a scare on Thursday when it was reported wide receiver Andre McDonald was admitted to the hospital with a heart problem. Everything checked out fine, however, and he was released that evening.

The school announced that McDonald was released after undergoing several tests, though no further information was available on why he was taken to the hospital in the first place.

McDonald has had quite a rough beginning to his athletic career at Minnesota as the freshman out of Hopkins High School in Minnetonka missed the first two weeks of the season with an infection due to turf burn on his leg. He's listed as questionable on this week's injury report with an undisclosed injury.
