The 15-7-1 University of Minnesota Golden Gophers play two games this weekend against the 11-8-2 University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. The Gopher hockey team have lost their last two games, falling 3-2 to Northeastern in the Mariucci Classic championship and 4-3 to Notre Dame in Saturday's U.S. Hall of Fame game, while North Dakota defeated Clarkson 3-1 last weekend in Winnipeg.

Minnesota enters this weekend ranked fifth in both the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey polls. UND is ranked 17th in the USCHO poll and is unranked by USA Today.
