While a feel good, underdog story plays out on the other side of the bracket, the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Boston College Eagles are squaring off in a heavyweight Frozen Four duel.
Minnesota and BC have won a combined nine NCAA hockey titles, including five of the last 11. The winner will face either Ferris State or Union College, neither of which has ever been to a Frozen Four, let alone won a title.
The Gophers and Eagles have each routed their competition in the first two rounds of the tournament. Minnesota, 26-13-1, has scored an incredible 12 goals through two games, winning 7-3 and 5-2.
That offense will go up against BC's stout defense. The Eagles, who went 29-10-1 this season, have yet to be scored upon, winning 2-0 and 4-0, respectively.
