Frozen Four 2012: Minnesota vs. Boston College Score Update: Eagles Lead 1-0 After First Period

Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Golden Gophers outshot the Boston College Eagles 10-5, but it was only the Eagles who were able to light the lamp in the first period of the second NCAA Frozen Four semifinal match up on Thursday.

The period's lone goal was scored by the Eagles' Steven Whitney, assisted on by Barry Almeida and Bill Arnold at the 6:03 mark. Boston College's Parker Milner stopped all 10 shots he faced in the first period.

Minnesota came up empty on the only power play of the game.

The winner will play Ferris State in the finals who won their semifinal game 3-1 earlier today.
