Frozen Four 2012, Minnesota Vs. Boston College Final Score: Golden Gophers Melted By Eagles, 6-1

Stay connected for news and updates

The Boston College Eagles scorched the Minnesota Golden Gophers in the 2012 Frozen Four semifinals on Thursday night, 6-1.

Although Minnesota accumulated more shots and, at times, better scoring opportunities, the Eagles completely out-skilled the Golden Gophers in getting six pucks past the Gophers' goaltender Kent Patterson.

Minnesota didn't light the lamp until the third period when Jake Hansen scored less than two minutes in to cut the deficit to 4-1. The goal seemed to revitalize the Gophers a little, but the Eagles once again got an easy scoring chance and capitalized to all but seal it.

Boston College will play Ferris State for the championship on Saturday.
