Wolves Week: Timberwolves Have Short Schedule On All-Star Week

This weekend, the NBA will be holding its All-Star festivities at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. As a result, the Timberwolves have a short week of games, as they'll only be taking the court twice in the next seven days. Right now, they still have the second-worst record in the NBA, but an unprecedented two consecutive road victories. . .followed by two consecutive losses, naturally. . .have pushed them a little farther ahead of the dismal Cleveland Cavaliers in the race for the NBA's worst record.

The first game of the week will come tonight at the Target Center, as the Timberwolves welcome the Portland Trail Blazers to town. This will be the fourth and final meeting of the season between these two teams, with the Trail Blazers having swept the first three games against the Wolves. Portland got a 107-102 victory over the Wolves in Portland on Dec. 17, a 108-98 victory in Minnesota on Jan. 7, and a 113-102 victory in Portland on Jan. 17.  This one will get underway at the Target Center at 7:00 p.m., and will be available on local television on Fox Sports North.

The week will conclude for all the Timberwolves not named Kevin Love and Wesley Johnson (who will be in the Rookies vs. Sophomores game on All-Star Weekend) on Wednesday, as the Los Angeles Clippers will be coming to Minneapolis. This will also be the fourth and final meeting between these two teams for the season, and the Clippers have taken two out of the first three. Minnesota held the home court back on Nov. 17 with a 113-111 victory over Blake Griffin and company, but the Clippers won the next two games, both of which were in Los Angeles, by scores of 113-90 on Dec. 20 and 126-111 on Jan. 19. Tipoff for this one is also scheduled for 7:00 p.m. Central, and can also be seen on Fox Sports North.

Both of these games can also be heard on the radio on KFAN-AM 1130.

Again, it's a short week for the Wolves, and if you have a chance to get out to the Target Center, please do so.
