Things looked a little bleak for the Timberwolves early, as they allowed Golden State to put up a whopping 41 points in the first quarter of play and trailed by nine going into the second quarter. Minnesota started to heat up in the second quarter, outscoring the Warriors 37-32 to go into halftime trailing 73-69. The third quarter was all Minnesota, as they outscored the Warriors by a 19-point margin and took a 15-point lead into the final quarter of play. Golden State, to their credit, mounted a furious comeback in the fourth, but it ultimately wasn't enough as the Wolves held on for the three-point victory.
Kevin Love had an absolutely monstrous game for Minnesota, putting up 37 points and pulling down an incredible 23 rebounds. This is the fourth time this season that Love has put together a performance of at least 30 points and 20 rebounds. . .this is even more incredible when you realize that that's three more 30-20 performances than the rest of the National Basketball Association combined.
The win snaps a seven-game losing streak for the Timberwolves. Minnesota will next take to the court on Tuesday when they host the Los Angeles Lakers.
