The Minnesota Timberwolves will host the defending NBA champions the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday night. The Timberwolves are still searching for their first win, currently holding a record of 0-3.
The good news for Minnesota is that Dallas hasn't fared much better thus far in the young season. They're 1-3 and have lost both of their in-conference games. While the T-Wolves are the only winless team in the Western Conference, the Mavericks are looking exceedingly beatable as of late. They picked up their first win of the season on Friday by beating Toronto and avoiding the ignominy of being the only defending champion to ever open a season 0-4.
Minneapolis played three games against the Mavs last season and were swept in the series by Dallas. The key to the game may end up being how well the Minnesota defense can contain Dirk Nowitzki.
Sunday's game will tip off at 7:00 PM EST at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
