Timberwolves Schedule 2012: Minnesota Faces Tough 4-Game Schedule

Easier tests for Minnesota this week against Sacramento and Detroit are followed quickly by harder bouts at Los Angeles and Utah.

Though the Minnesota Timberwolves are clearly a talented team with the likes of Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love tearing up the floors, they've just been unable to get the numbers to put themselves in the W column and currently sit at 4-8. This week will provide them with four games and a slim but possible chance to get back to .500.

Minnesota start the week off easy on Monday with a 7 PM home game against the hapless Sacramento Kings, a team that has been getting destroyed by just about everyone and is just coming off a 99-60 thrashing at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks. The cure to what ails the Wolves? Quite possibly, as the Kings have been an absolute mess. Unfortunately for Minnesota the Sactown tilt is the easiest one on the docket for this week.

A home game against the Detroit Pistons follows on Wednesday at 7, with Detroit reeling almost as much as Sacramento have been lately. Detroit sits at a miserable 3-10 record and has most recently lost to the Golden State Warriors. The team has actually been setting their own records for futility, in fact.

The games get a bit harder after that with a back to back on Friday and Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers at 9:30 and Utah Jazz at 8:00. We all know about how the Lob City Clippers have improved with Chris Paul on the squad, but the Jazz have been a pleasant surprise after a disappointing few seasons. They just beat their archrivals from Denver and are 8-4 at the moment. With home field advantage high in Salt Lake, the Wolves will need to dig deep if they want to get three or even four wins out of this week.
