Minnesota Timberwolves forward Chase Budinger will miss three months following surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, according to Adrian Wojnarowski. Budinger injured the knee on Saturday in a loss to the Chicago Bulls.
X-rays were negative, though the injury was not pretty. Budinger appeared to get caught in a scrum of large men following a Taj Gibson block.
He told a reporter, "It was one of those crazy plays where my foot got stuck. It got tangled up. I felt my leg twist." The injury was not originally suspected to be so serious.
Through six games, Budinger has averaged 11.8 points per game, along with 3.5 rebounds. Following three seasons with the Houston Rockets, this is his first year in Minnesota.
