Los Angeles was a fun place to be for the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night as they took down the Los Angeles Clippers to push themselves above .500. They'll face another test in California on Wednesday against the Los Angeles Lakers, but against a Lakers team that might be missing their superstar -- and the league's leading scorer -- Kobe Bryant.
Kobe suffered a concussion and also broke his nose during the All Star game, which could keep him out of the contest and give the Wolves a big boost in confidence facing a team that they haven't won a game against in a very long time. The last time the Wolves took a game from LA was back in 2007 and the Lakers have demolished Minnesota more often than not during that winning streak.
It might be an uphill mountain, but if there's a team of players who are ready for the challenge of breaking that losing streak it's the current crop of Wolves led by Kevin Love. Minnesota can hit two games above .500 and have an honest to goodness impressive winning streak with a win over the Lakers, so there's plenty of incentive to do their best. Kobe being out isn't assured, as coach Mike Brown said he is 'tough as nails' after all, so it'll be a question of how hard a time the Wolves will have right up until tip-off.
The game will be at Staples Center at 10:30 PM ET.
