Timberwolves Vs. Suns Final Score: Minnesota Wins High Scoring Affair, 127-124

The Minnesota Timberwolves snapped their brief two-game losing streak and returned to a game above .500 on Monday night by defeating the Phoenix Suns in a very high scoring affair, 127-124.

Minnesota followed up a 63-point first half with 64 points in the second half and 23 of those came from Kevin Love. Love, who was a game-time decision after leaving shootaround with back spasms, finished with 30 points (5-for-9 from three-pointers) and seven rebounds.

The Timberwolves saw 52 points from their bench -- Wayne Ellington (15), Michael Beasley (15), and Derrick Williams (19) -- and another 24 points from Nikola Pekovic. Luke Ridnour nearly had a double-double with 10 points and nine assists.

This was Minnesota's second of a seven-game road trip. They play next on Thursday in Utah against the Jazz.

Timberwolves Vs. Suns Score Update: Bench Helps Minnesota To 63-56 Halftime Lead

At 21-21 and Ricky Rubio-less, the Minnesota Timberwolves will have a tough go at making the playoffs in the very deep Western Conference. However, if the bench steps up like it has tonight in Phoenix, they may be alright. After 24 minutes, the Timberwolves have a seven-point lead, 63-56.

Three Timberwolves off the bench are in double figures. Michael Beasley has 15 points while Wayne Ellington and Derrick Williams each have 12 points. The three are shooting a combined 15-for-21 from the field. Starter Nikola Pekovic leads all scorers with 16 points.

The Timberwolves were almost without Kevin Love, who left the shootaround earlier today with ice packs on his back and reported back spasms. Love hasn't been the same in the first half, shooting 3-for-9, but he still has seven points and four rebounds.

Timberwolves Vs. Suns: Kevin Love Will Play, Jose Juan Barea A 'Game-time Decision' In Phoenix

Despite suffering from back spasms lately, Kevin Love says he will play Monday night against the Phoenix Suns, while Jose Juan Barea says he will be a "game-time decision", according to Jerry Zgoda of The Minneapolis Star Tribune. Via Zgoda:

Kevin Love, btw, left the US Airways Center this morning with icepacks strapped to his back. He said the back is still sore, but said he'll play and hope Tuesday and Wednesday helps it get better.

Barea has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury. The Timberwolves will rely much more on Barea after Ricky Rubio suffered a season-ending torn ACL.

Love missed Minnesota's match up with the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night due to the back spasms, but returned to play 41 minutes in the Timberwolves loss to the Hornets.
