The Los Angeles Lakers are playing the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center on Thursday night, but the story surrounding the visiting team doesn't have anything to do with things happening on the court. Instead, trade rumors are the hot topic as Pau Gasol has reportedly been traded.
NBA trade rumors have surrounded the Lakers and Wolves for the past few weeks, but there's no indication with which team the Lakers are making a deal. There are strong indications from Lakers insider Roland Lazenby that Los Angeles does have a deal done, however, to move their All-Star big man.
It seems we'll soon be getting news that Gasol has been traded. No details confirmed, but he's apparently gone.

Considering the Chris Paul fiasco, it's good to remind that nothing is official. Only whispers, but it's a whispering NBA world these days

There were NBA trade rumors, of course, that the Wolves were interested in trading for Pau Gasol while possibly sending rookie Derrick Williams to the Lakers. It didn't sound like a good idea at the time and things haven't really changed, but that's likely what Los Angeles would be looking for in exchange for the 7-foot Spaniard.
