Stay connected for news and updates

The Minnesota Timberwolves are on the verge of closing the 2011-2012 NBA regular season with their 40th loss as they trail the Denver Nuggets 61-42 at halftime.

Jose Barea leads the Timberwolves with 15 points, while Nikola Pekovic has added ten points for Minnesota. However, the Nuggets have shot 57.8 percent from the field in the first half. Danilo Galinari leads all Denver scorers with 13 points, while JaVale McGee has added 12 points and Ty Lawson has chipped in with 10.

A win tonight would enable the Nuggets to finish ten games above .500 at 38-28. The Timberwolves would finish with the 4th worst record in the Western Conference and the 9th-worst record in the NBA.
