2012 NBA Mock Draft: Latest SB Nation Mock Sends Jeremy Lamb To Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves could use a lot of help in the depth department with superstar Kevin Love and budding star Ricky Rubio already leading the way for the Wolves, so that's where they seem to be going with the 18th overall pick in most NBA Mock Drafts. In Tom Ziller's latest 2012 NBA Mock Draft, the Wolves are able to snag a player that a lot of analysts are saying could go in the top ten, UCONN shooting guard Jeremy Lamb.

Is he a guard? Does he have a pulse? Then he can help the Minnesota Timberwolves.

(I don't see the draw of Lamb up in the lottery, especially in the top 10. It's so hard to go that high when you're a two-guard with little positional flexibility and you don't blow opponents out of the water.)

Tom isn't kidding about Lamb being a popular prospect a lot higher in the draft, DraftExpress' latest mock draft has Lamb as high as eighth overall to the Toronto Raptors.

Lamb was efficient at Connecticut, putting up 17.7 points per game for the Huskies. His top 10 pedigree might be in doubt, but his college numbers and skill set seem to indicate that the 6'4'' guard has the stuff to at least be a solid depth guy in the NBA. That's just what the Wolves are looking for, especially at the guard position right now.
